  • In the first session, you will share your story. We will discuss your background and history, your therapy goals, and what you would like to change. The initial meeting is also crucial for determining if we are a good fit for each other. Do I come across as trustworthy to you? The basis for our future collaboration is being laid now. We will start to formulate some objectives, and construct some plans to help you reach your goals.

It's important to feel comfortable with your therapist, so scheduling 2-3 sessions before deciding whether or not to continue working together is beneficial. If I think another professional would be a better fit for you, I will make referrals to specialists or reliable colleagues.

  • I accept a limited number of insurance-based clients. I am in network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Optum, Oscar, Oxford, and United Healthcare.

Accepting insurance makes therapy more accessible for some. However, using insurance compromises confidentiality and privacy while creating barriers to receiving some modalities of high-quality treatment.

Insurance companies decide on the length of treatment, number of sessions allowed, therapy approaches allowed, and they require that you be diagnosed with a mental health disorder before they pay for therapy. A mental health diagnosis will be permanently included in your health record.

Insurance companies can also find out why you are going to therapy and how well it is helping you. They have the right to look at your therapy files and notes and ask your therapist questions about your care.

By choosing not to use insurance, we can keep your information safe and private without being limited by the insurance company, making sure you get the highest-quality of care you deserve.

As an out-of-network (OON) provider, I accept self-pay clients who agree to pay my full fee for services provided. Many insurance companies reimburse for mental health services. Check with your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

Receiving therapy services from an OON provider means:

    1. You don’t have to be labeled with a diagnosis on your medical record.

    2. Your therapy record, including session notes, are kept confidential and private within the limits of confidentiality (i.e. abuse, neglect, court order).

    3. You and your therapist determine the length of care and the most appropriate treatment methods to help you heal and reach your goals.

  • Payment for therapy services is charged the day of your scheduled session. Clients must maintain a valid credit, debit, HSA, or FSA card on file during the course of treatment.

For clients using insurance, you will be charged your copay or coinsurance amount (if applicable) depending on the behavioral health benefit within your specific insurance plan.

  • We require a 24 hour notice of session cancellation. Failure to cancel within 24 hours of your scheduled session will result in you being charged the full session fee for your scheduled services. Three consecutive cancellations without notice or “no shows” may result in termination.

  • My approach to therapy is holistic and integrative. This means I treat the whole person - mind, body, and spirit utilizing evidence-based and somatic therapy practices. Brainspotting, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Practices, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy guide my work.
